Pathos: This gives off an emotional respose to a consumer. If they see this picture of this unfortunite baby then it makes them want to help him. They have a paragraph telling about him. and it says that where he lives, two babies die every hour.

1. List 3 things you learned or that surprised you
2. Respond to each quote: How does this statement make you feel?  Do you agree or disagree? Why?
"So you can give them what you want them to have" (MTV Machine, 9:40) Mark Crispin-Miller, Communications Professor @ NYU

"Makers of teen TV argue that they’re only reflecting the real world; media is just a mirror."  (The Giant Feedback Loop, 6:50)
  1. One thing that I learned is how television, in a way scientifically found out how to attract teens.
  2. I was surprised that some of the music groups that were getting noticed from television were so violent but that’s what had a buzz at the time so it was broadcasted.
  3.  I learned that it goes further than just television and how it attracts teens. Any business has its own way to attract the most money. For examples McDonalds attracts kids by adding a lot of colors and playgrounds.
·         In the first quote, I think this is pretty accurate because I think a lot of buzzes going around with teens, such as fashion and sex, are coming from television and other sources. If a teen see’s a famous person wearing some new hot clothes, then they might want to get what they had on or something that resembles.
·         In the second quote, you could say that. But like somebody said in one of the videos, is it the other way around, does the real world reflect off the media? It’s just a big circle. The media tricks the teen into thinking what they see on television is actually reality so that’s what they go off of.

rich vs. poor

dear Mr. Mcginn, in my photographes tooken at New Start High School. some people have the finer things and others have hammy downs. rather its from cars to money, to shoes, to jewerly all the way to electronics. our school is very unfortinet, it would be nice if you would grant some scholorships to student that attend here.
